It was matchday for the two leading teams in group B in Extreme Masters. mTw faced the strong Russians from forZe while mousesports had an - on paper - easy task against Bulgarian Man1a.
Before the match, mTw still needed a good start on 2008 which they claimed to be their year. Losing against forZe would be a disaster upon the devastating defeat against roccat in NGL-One, and therefore a victory was demanded. The Danish team did their job well, and secured a comfortable win against the Russians, winning 2-0 (16-8 on train, 16-13 on nuke).
With mTw winning, mousesports needed a win against Man1a to keep hold of the Danes. On paper, the task seemed easy for the German top team and they surely lived up to their role as favorites. mousesports won easily 2-0 with the scores 16-5 and 16-8 at train and inferno.
As the two leading teams continues their winning streak, the expectations are high for the great group clash between them. mousesports and mTw will meet each other the 8th February. Even though both teams are qualified to the next group stage, it's going to be very interesting because the match will decide who's going to claim the important number one spot in the group.
